Jackson’s newborn portrait session

September 17th, 2009 | Posted in Kids & Family at 12:25 pm by jen

Our good friend and amazing wedding coordinator Mary (Occasions) had a beautiful baby boy, Jackson. As only a wedding coordinator could, she had Jackson arrive exactly on time on his due date! Nate & I went over to meet him, and grab a few shots of course. He is a doll, and was the perfect little model. We’re so happy for you Mary & Larry, and can’t wait for Jackson & Lucas to start playing together!!

Mahshid & Michael married at the Glendale Hilton

September 11th, 2009 | Posted in Weddings at 10:11 am by jen

One more wedding I shot with Laurie Bailey recently. Mahshid & Michael’s amazing Persian-Jewish ceremony was extra special, because Michael’s father performed the ceremony. I love it when a family member or friend officiates the ceremony, it makes it all the more emotional and personal. The day took place at the Glendale Hilton, and everyone had a great time, including grandma who got up to dance (a rare sight I was told).

Miri & Camilo married at American Jewish University, Brandeis-Bardin

September 11th, 2009 | Posted in Weddings at 10:07 am by jen

Here’s another awesome wedding I shot with Laurie Bailey. Miri & Camilo are the sweetest, most in love couple. Mixed cultural weddings (Miri is Jewish, Camilo is from Nicaragua) are always fun to be a part of, especially when the two families love each other as much as these families. The entire day took place at the beautiful American Jewish University, Brandeis-Bardin campus in Simi Valley. I got to hang with the men during the Tish (lots of singing, taunting of Camilo and dancing, and a lot of Nicaraguan rum). Check out the fabulous floral from Jackie Combs Floral Design. These two were clearly the life of the party. :)

Veronica & David married in Manhattan Beach

September 11th, 2009 | Posted in Weddings at 10:06 am by jen

I’ve had the privilege of shooting with Laurie Bailey lately. Here’s one from last month of Veronica & David. Laurie always let’s me shoot with the groom, which is a nice change of pace for me. I always find it fun to mix it up a bit on a wedding day! The beautiful catholic ceremony was held at American Martyrs Catholic Church in Manhattan Beach, and the reception was at Verandas. David proposed to Veronica at Disneyland, so elements of the park were everywhere throughout the day (check out one of the awesome and very original centerpieces below!).

Karthi & Erik’s Hindu wedding

September 1st, 2009 | Posted in Indian Weddings, Weddings at 3:02 pm by jen

Karthi & Erik had such a warm and beautiful hindu wedding ceremony at the Sanatan Dharma Temple and intimate reception at The Grand in Long Beach. Most of Karthi’s relatives are in Australia and sent a video montage of good wishes for her and Erik which her sister completely surprised her with at the reception. Erik rented an awesome Lotus which we got to photograph a bit of, and they looked HOTT riding in it! Thanks guys, we had a blast with you. Enjoy your new home in Seattle!!

A special thank you to Tam & Nick for referring us to Karthi & Erik. After I found this sweet spot to shoot the bride & groom, I had to take these guys out for a snap! Thank you, we love you guys!!! XOXO
