Manisha & Nishant Hindu wedding at the Long Beach Hilton

July 28th, 2009 | Posted in Indian Weddings, Weddings at 11:30 am by jen

Manisha & Nishant’s traditional Hindu wedding was beautiful! It was a hot day, but luckily the ceremony was nice and shaded just as things were getting going. Nishant arrived on a stunning white horse from Enchanted Carriages for the energetic Barat. The mandap was beautifully decorated by Manjit’s Flower Cottage, who also created the centerpieces and reception stage. Diamond Palace catered fantastic food, and I’ll admit to having one or two little treats from Sweet and Saucy Shop. Dhamaka Music kept the dance floor hopping and made sure everyone had a great time. Congratulations guys!

Laura & Frank, engagement session at Pasadena City Hall

July 25th, 2009 | Posted in Engagements at 1:49 pm by jen

Laura & Frank’s upcoming wedding at Michael’s Restaurant is going to be so fabulous, we can’t wait! I had such a great time with these two (and their dogs!) crashing a wedding at Pasadena City Hall (well, not so much crash it as sneak around to some great photo spots so no one could see us) and then off to the Colorado St. bridge for their engagement session.

Wedding at the Cypress Sea Cove

July 11th, 2009 | Posted in Weddings at 12:35 pm by jen

I feel so lucky to have such great friends in this industry who as a bonus are also amazing talents. Whenever I am asked to shoot with a friend, I jump at the chance. It’s fun to shoot with different people, mix it up a bit and always learn something new. Recently, I got to shoot with Laurie Bailey, who is an awesome photographer. We had a blast together and I can’t wait to get the chance to work with her again. We had a wonderful couple to work with, and a beautiful location: the Cypress Sea Cove. I also got to start my day out with the groom, which was a nice change of pace, as I always tend to start my day off getting the bride ready. I had a great time bonding with his family and got some great shots of him. Thank you Laurie for trusting me with your clients, and thank you Chris & Yael for letting me help document your day.

Karthi & Erik’s e-pics at Disney Hall

July 7th, 2009 | Posted in Engagements at 9:00 am by jen

We can’t wait to photograph Karthi & Erik’s wedding this coming August. Could these two be more in love??? Their story is so sweet - they worked together, both liked each other, but were totally intimidated by each other. They finally got their courage together and… well, here they are. They wanted something “a little more formal” than a typically session, so we suggested Walt Disney Concert Hall as the backdrop. Being the dream clients that they are, they said “sure, we’ll do anything you say”. And they did. Here’s a look:

Andrea & John at Verandas

July 2nd, 2009 | Posted in Weddings at 8:35 pm by jen

Andrea & John were married at beautiful Verandas. They weren’t phased by “June Gloom”, which was great as we think there is nothing like having a gigantic softbox in the sky to make for beautiful light.  Their vows were identical, except for the fill-in-the-blank part, where they each had to make a promise to the other. John’s promise involved the replacing the toothpaste cap, Andrea’s involved cheering with John on Sundays. That is true love. Bernie Hsiao of Creative Floral Designs put together stunning flowers for the day. Here’s a look:
