We shot Jenn & Richard’s engagement session almost a year ago, it was so nice to finally enjoy the wedding day!! I met the girls at the Georgian Hotel in Santa Monica, then we were off to Temescal Gateway Park for the ceremony and reception. We were fighting off some threatening rain clouds and only got sprinkled on a little during the family portraits - everyone was a trooper and stuck it out for us!! Besides, a little rain is always good luck on a wedding day. Liz Coopersmith of The Silver Charm ran the day flawlessly, Century City Flowers created stunning fall inspired orange hued bouquets and boutonnières that looked beautiful against the bridal parties dark blue, and Hansens Cakes came through with a super tasty and beautiful chocolate and lemon cake.

The ACPWC is a great organization helping to train and achieve great professionalism in wedding coordinators. Last week Marcia Vidal of Crystal Clear Weddings not only organized their speaker day at the Hilton Long Beach but was also graduating herself! She asked us to to be part of the day, and help educate their newest members on the photography side of a wedding. We were among some fantastic speakers and people we admire in this industry, including David Robin | films, Peter Merry, Bob Gail, Emily Rose Papers, Rev. Clint Hufft and Caroline Hallak. Congratulations to all the students who completed their week long class, and to all who graduated with their certificates! We had a great time, thanks for including us!

This week, Nate & I got to work with two of our favorite people in the industry, Mary Sushinski of Occasions, and Jackie Combs of Jackie Combs Floral Design. They put together two stunning table top designs and we got to photograph them. Take a look:

We are so looking forward to shooting Dana & Todd’s wedding at Michael’s Restaurant in Santa Monica this November. These two are so sweet, we had the best time with them shooting their engagement session on the Fox Studio Lot! As soon as they told us they both worked for Fox Sports, Nate JUMPED on the idea of shooting on the Lot for their e-pics. Even with getting all the OK’s from all the right people, security stopped us a few times as we roamed around, to make sure we hadn’t just jumped the fence to get in. While we’re always up for a little sneaky “guerrilla” photography, it was fun to tell the guards “Why yes, we ARE allowed to shoot here!”. Nate can now officially say he has worked on every studio lot in town! Here’s a look:
