The Victorian

February 19th, 2007 | Posted in Weddings at 12:48 pm by jen

Last nights event was at The Victorian in Santa Monica. Jeanette and Josh were both adorably nervous and couldn’t wait to marry each other! After the ceremony, these two barely let go of each other, they were so happy to finally be together. Mandy at The Victorian was coordinator extrodinare, keeping the night running as smooth as silk, Duck Duck Mousse whipped up a fantasic dinner and DJ Sam House got things shaking. Here’s a look:

Erin & Mark at the Sunset Restaurant

February 19th, 2007 | Posted in Weddings at 10:26 am by jen

Erin & Mark were married last October 14th at the Ritz Carlton in Marina del Rey. They had a small ceremony, immediate family only, then took themselves for a fabulous Spago dinner after! They said it was the best date night EVER! Here we are, four months later enjoying their reception for friends and family at the beautiful Sunset Restaurant in Malibu. Kelly Ann and her team at The Sunset put together a flawless event, Brandi of The Event Division kept the night moving along perfectly. The room was decorated beautifully by a team of experts, table linens by Fusion Linens, flowers by Ambiance Floral Design and lighting by Ambiance AV. The stunning and delicious cake was created by the ever talented NancyKay Confections and the boys of The Ravers! kept the party rockin’. Here’s a look:

The beautiful tables were named after places Erin & Mark have traveled together.

The bud vases they gave as favors, with their original wedding date.

The fabulous couple!

A perfect Malibu sunset.

The lighting gave the room a warm and inviting glow.

NancyKay’s stunning creation.

I love Mark’s friend peeking around the corner watching them cut the cake!

A moment together.

Meet Jacob Apa

February 15th, 2007 | Posted in Kids & Family at 12:23 pm by jen

I took a rather last minute trip to Toronto this past weekend, the reason being to meet my newest cousin, Jacob! In the process, I realized the reason I left Toronto in the first place - WINTER IS BRUTAL! We pretty much stayed inside the whole time and took pictures, so it wasn’t all bad. :) He’s 5 months now and full of personality (and drool). He rocked the house dancing to A Tribe Called Quest (a boy after my own heart) in his Jolly Jumper. He is SOOO much fun!!! Here he is:

Lily Delamere

February 15th, 2007 | Posted in Kids & Family at 12:03 pm by jen

This past weekend, I flew to Toronto and got to meet 2 month old Lily. Her mommy Carolyn is one of my oldest friends. We actually figured out we can say we’ve known each other for 20 years!!! Now, that’s scary. It’s always so amazing to see these little beings trying to figure out whats going on, and why I always have this big black thing in front of my face (that’d be my camera). She was a pro mugging for me. Here’s a look:

Jeanetta & Darrell at UCLA

February 12th, 2007 | Posted in Engagements at 6:28 pm by jen

When Darrell proposed to Jeanetta, he took her to Paris, Las Vegas. Thus they set the theme for their wedding. For their engagement they wanted a location with beautiful old buildings. Jen and I have shot engagement sessions at UCLA before, and Jeanetta and Darrell liked the idea. These guys were great fun. Darrell is a real joker, and could not stop smiling. He kept Jeanetta smiling, too. I had a blast showing them around campus, and stopping every chance I had to snap some more pictures. (Jen is in Toronto this weekend, so Nate was shooting this one solo.) I’m looking forward to shooting their wedding in June, starting at the Ritz Carlton Marina Del Rey (which is a fabulous location), with the ceremony at the Inglewood 1st Church of God and reception at the FantaSea Yacht Club. And no, we will not be going out on the water. :( Here’s a sample:

Joshua Tree

February 5th, 2007 | Posted in Weddings at 10:24 am by jen

This is our year of destination weddings. Look for our 4 day event in Sayulita Mexico this coming March and Cambria California this summer. This past weekend, we started our travel year off with an incredible event in Joshua Tree. When Alyson first contacted me and told me they were planning a small wedding (14 people) in Joshua Tree (one of my MOST favorite spots in the world) AND her fiancé Michael was Canadian (hello fellow Canuk!!), there was no way we were not going to capture this day for her. It was so wonderful being surrounded by the few closest people to them in the world and being in their favorite spot in the world. We were truly honored to be able to capture this day for them. It all took place in the “backyard” of a fabulous rental house Joshua Tree Oasis, which overlooks the most spectacular view. The ceremony was led by their 2 brothers (I love it when close family or friends run the show!) followed by a wonderful intimate dinner party for 14. Here’s a peek:

Purple was everywhere, the table setting was stunning.

I was lucky enough to ride in the limo with Alyson & her parents.

Alyson’s stunning bouquet.

The fantastic backlit desert ceremony.

LOVED their families!

It takes a real woman to walk through the desert and climb rocks in Manolo Blahnik’s

An aunt made them a great scrapbook, there were a few tears looking through it.

Sara Munro the Flame Fatale did a spellbinding show (with so much dry brush, she couldn’t use actual fire, but it still was a fanatastic show)
