The Universal Hilton with Inez & Arjang

January 22nd, 2007 | Posted in Weddings at 4:42 pm by jen

Our first wedding of 2007, and what a way to start the year! This amazing event merged a couple of fantastic cultures and threw a heck of a party! The day took place at the Universal City Hilton on a perfectly clear beautiful day. Inez’s suite was on the top floor, and being 24 stories high, we could see the ENTIRE San Fernando Valley!!! Sherry Younge and her team from The Artform Studio beautified all the ladies. Louellen Pigott of Elegant Designs in Bloom created stunning bright jewel colored bouquets and flower arrangements. D.J. Arash knew how to start and keep the party going (we could barely see the dance floor most of the night!). The catering was a combo of a multi course chinese banquet, along with appetizers and a few courses by Arjang’s father’s catering company Savi Ranch (who, by the way had THE BEST kebobs I’ve EVER tasted in my life!!!). Liz Coopersmith of The Silver Charm along with her assistant Maya keep the party wheels turning and everything on and even ahead of time! And, she just makes us laugh all night. :) Definitely, a great start to the new year…

Arjang helping his (soon to be) father-in-law with his bow tie.

A calm moment as the girls finished getting Inez ready.

Fantastic flowers!

I love a little light flare

Ready for the aisle

Sweet gift boxed favors.

The first dance.

Molly & Charlie at the Public Library

January 8th, 2007 | Posted in Engagements at 5:03 pm by jen

This past weekend we shot Molly & Charlie’s engagement session. We’re so looking forward to shooting their wedding this coming March at Verandas! These guys are great fun, and that really came through in the shots this weekend. Their Save the Date notice was on a bookmark, complete with a reading list for all their friends and family. What better place to do thier engagement session than at the Central Public Library! The best part of the day was, we got kicked out! It’s always fun shooting in guerrilla mode. Nate & I were behaving ourselves, it was all that making out Molly & Charlie were doing that got us in trouble! ;) No worries, the show goes on, and off we went to Bunker Hill, then on to Pershing Square. We tried to get on the outdoor ice rink, but there were too many people, they wouldn’t let us on. Again, we went with the flow and get some great shots anyway. Here’s a look:

We started the day off with a great lunch at The Original Pantry. There’s no better way to get to know people than over a meal!

The shot that got us kicked out of the Central Library!

OK, so we stuck around for a few more shots… That place is huge, they’d never find us!

Love that ceiling in the rotunda.

Bunker Hill is so pretty…

Who knew Los Angeles could maintain an ourdoor ice rink? All the skaters are whipping by this smootching couple.

The Natural History Museum

January 4th, 2007 | Posted in Events at 4:52 pm by jen

Happy new year to everyone!! We hope you all had a wonderful holiday. Now it’s time to play a little catch up on the blog! A few weeks back we were asked by the Natural History Museum to take some shots of their digs as they were all dressed up for a few events over the holidays. They needed some new images for marketing and we were more than happy to oblige! Here’s a handful of shots from 3 different sessions we shot:

One of my favorite dioramas in the African Mammal’s habitat hall.

Hungry dino’s, first in line for the buffet.

One of the parties had impersonators mingling with the guests. Here’s Marilyn flirting with Nate.

Ready to party in the North American Mammal’s habitat hall.

This party set up one long table for all the guests right in the dinosaur rotunda

Here, the African Mammal’s habitat hall was turned into a night club lounge.
