October 31st, 2006 | Posted in Kids & Family at 12:10 pm by jen

We took the twins to the pumpkin patch this morning. Hands down, they are the cutest pumpkins ever!!!! Jack was a little sleepy to start and Emily wasn’t so into being part of the patch, but we still managed to have a little fun with them…

Cute? Who me?

Melissa & Jeffrey at Villa Del Sol D’Oro

October 22nd, 2006 | Posted in Weddings at 2:40 pm by jen

Yesterday’s fantastic wedding began at the Westin Hotel in Pasadena. We had a great time getting Melissa ready and taking care of a bunch of family photos (without letting Melissa & Jeffrey see each other). The best part was watching Jeffrey open his gift from Melissa, which we got to deliver to him. I took some boudoir shots of Melissa a few months back and made a beautiful book of the images. Jeffrey was…very pleased with the book. :) We then headed over to Villa Del Sol D’Oro in Sierra Madre for the wedding and reception. What a stunning location! A beautiful villa surrounded by lush grounds. A great meal was catered by Santa Anita Gardens, and the band Hit Machine who came all the way from the Pacific Northwest was FANTASTIC!!! A lot of fun was had by all. It was difficult to pick just a few for the blog, but here they are…

Melissa’s stunning dress started off as a great gown she found through Brides against Breast Cancer which she could only make better by adding some old lace which was passed down through her family. She looked incredible!!! FYI, you can donate mammograms by visiting the The Breast Cancer Society website and clicking the big pink button. Visit & click daily!!!

A quiet moment before everything began…

Such a beautiful emotion filled ceremony.

Having fun with M&J

We must love these two so much because they are such goodballs!

Making their big entrance as Mr & Mrs!

Listening to speeches

The beautiful patio for dinner

Dancing with Mom & Dad

Having fun on the dancefloor

The Hit Machine rocked the house!

And then there was the after party… yes, that’s Melissa riding a bull. She blew the 8 second rule out of the water. According to the clocks in our cameras, she was up there for a full 2 minutes! And it was bucking pretty hard. You go girl!!!

Andrea & Mike at El Dorado

October 15th, 2006 | Posted in Weddings at 10:34 am by jen

Yesterday, Andrea & Mike were married at the El Dorado Golf Club in Long Beach. Their fall themed wedding was beautiful with lots of reds, oranges and burnt yellows. Gourds and fall colored leaves decorated everything and the unique pumpkin centerpieces all tied together. We shot Andrea & Mike’s engagement session at the rustic Topanga State Park a few months ago and knew then we’d have a great time at their wedding this past weekend! Here’s a peek:

Ready and waiting…

Pumpkin’s were everywhere!

Just about to walk down the aisle

Their first dance started out slow, but then they broke into a swing number! (they first met while swing dancing)

Andrea’s grandparents taught them a thing or two on how to keep their marrage steamy!!! (and these two could cut a mean rug)

Fun with bubbles…

Nicolle & Danny

October 9th, 2006 | Posted in Weddings at 8:53 am by jen

The Inn of the Seventh Ray could not be a better setting for Nicolle & Danny’s wedding. They wanted their wedding to be different, there was no wedding cake to be cut, there was no wedding party, Nicolle wore a gorgeous brown dress and the setting of being nestled in Topanga Canyon was perfect to throw a great party. One of the best parts of the day was, they had a very good friend of theirs, who happens to be a rabbinical student perform the beautiful and personal ceremony. Lucile of the Inn of the Seventh Ray was so helpful and on top of every detail, the stunning flowers were by Mark’s Garden (who, by the way did the flowers for our wedding too) and Jason Henson from A Visions Productions got everyone dancing. Here’s a sample of the evening:

Nicolle’s brother, Eric, was in charge of the rings

Programs waiting to be read

The ceremony began by circling each other

Yesterday’s wedding at Middle Ranch Lodge was beautiful. Megan & Erik are such a sweet couple, we had a great time hanging out with them all day. Heather Lee of Now and Forever Event Planning keep the day running smooth, and Marcel Gonzalez of First Choice DJ’s got everyone on the dance floor. Here’s a look:

Amber & Shane in Big Bear

October 2nd, 2006 | Posted in Weddings at 6:56 pm by jen

This weekend, we got to escape LA and get out to the mountains of Big Bear! This has also been our 3rd daytime wedding in 3 weeks. It’s a nice change of pace to be outdoors all day and capture everything with natural light. Saturday turned out the most perfect weather for Amber & Shane’s event at the Inn at Fawnskin, a beautiful B&B on the north side of the lake. Being a graphic artist, Amber designed every element of the day, from the gorgeous boxed invitations, to all the flower arrangements and everything in between. It was all absolutely perfect! After the wedding, we got to hang out with everyone at the after party, which was a blast! Here’s a little look at the day:

Always be prepared…

In lieu of a typical guestbook, they asked everyone to write a note to them on postcards

The rings on a beautifully decorated log

Amber’s stunning bouquet

We had a lot of fun with the wedding party!

We had them hike up a dirt path for this shot. They are troopers!!!

Pretty parasols for the guests…

…and most important for Ava the flower girl

Perfect light at the end of the night

I had to include this shot taken by Amber’s mom of Nate’s butt in action! So funny!!

Famous in Romania!

October 1st, 2006 | Posted in Press at 1:15 pm by jen

Awhile back I was interviewed by Photography Schools Website on my experience of going to school to study photography, how I made my career choices and how my schooling affected my life. Someone in Romania read the interview, followed the link to our website and loved our work. She asked to feature us this week on their website, Foto Magazin. They have some fantastic photographers of all genres up there, some I’ve been admiring for many years (make sure you check out Ami Vitale, I want to be her when I grow up.)

The image on the feature is from Robbin & Michael’s wedding we shot last year at the Santa Barbara Zoo. One of the most fun hora’s we’ve had the pleasure to document!

Here are links if you want to check them out:
