I can count the times we’ve done a bridal show on one finger. I tend to find them kind of a meat market and not really the way I prefer to meet my future clients. But, when Sherene Hulugalle of Wisteria Lane told me her idea of a different more intimate show, complete with couples having photo shoots on the spot and all proceeds donated to Heal The Bay, I thought, I could get into that. So, here I am announcing our involvement in the upcoming Eco Bridal Salon which will be held at the The Marion Davies House in Santa Monica this October 3rd. It’s a beautiful venue, and bound to be a great day. Come on out, meet some great vendors, have your photo taken, and help Heal the Bay. It’s a win-win all around. Hope to see you there!

This was such a fun wedding I shot with Kari Kochar at the beautiful Temescal Gateway Park. Darra & Matt were so cool and relaxed, you could see just how great of a time they were having! I knew I loved them right away, and everything was confirmed when I found out they had Animal cater the event. The food was A-MA-ZING. Coordination and flowers were all created by Megan Fickling Pearson of La Partie Events. The day couldn’t have been more perfect!

Back again at the stunning Bel Air Bay Club (do I need to say again how much we love this venue???). Marisa & Jonathan were actually married back East a few months ago, but with lots of family in LA, they chose to have another wonderful reception here. Marisa channeled a gorgeous ’20’s starlet look, and there was no wiping the enormous smile off Jonathan’s face. How could you make the night better? A stellar group a vendors and a crowd that likes to party, that’s how. Ravi Knypstra’s band was fantastic, Señor Amor rocked the house, the staff at the Bel Air Bay Club were perfect as always, Hector of Green Leaf created fantastic flower arrangements as always, and, of course, photography by us! Congrats guys! We had a blast with you!

Here’s another wedding a shot this year with Laurie Bailey. Kelly & Marty were so in love, it was exhilarating watching them. The Beach Club was the perfect setting and no one thought twice about the overcast and cool weather, it all worked perfectly. I loved how they decorated the tables, complete with Kelly’s mothers blue & white porcelain pieces that made the pink, orange & yellow flowers pop. Beautiful day!!

Nate & I only book a certain number of weddings a year, so we are able to give all of our clients lots of equal attention. This means we have some free weekends, and what do I like to do on these free days? Shoot with my photographer friends! This gives me the chance to keep in shooting shape all year long without all the post production work! I usually have the privilege of working with Laurie Bailey a few times a year, and we always have a great time, always work with great people and always shoot some awesome images together. This wedding at the beautiful Bel Air Bay Club (one of my favorite venues) was no exception, however it had one fun twist… Gordon Ramsay and his new show MasterChef were filming as well! The challenge for the contestants were to cater a wedding, so we got to work alongside a film crew (who were quite unobtrusive, thankfully) and get to watch Mr. Ramsay himself in action (he’s a pussy cat, all the grumpiness is for show). An exciting wedding for sure! BTW - the gorgeous flowers were created by Hector Martinez of Green Leaf Floral Design Here’s what I saw…

Mia is one of my oldest and dearest friends (we used to walk to school together!). When she asked if I would photograph her wedding, I was touched. When she told me it was going to be in Hawaii I screamed! Mia & Sylvain’s amazing wedding consisted of exactly 8 people. While big ballroom weddings are fun, there’s nothing like an intimate, casual wedding with just a few of your closest friends. The day was absolutely perfect, starting with the boys hanging by the pool and the girls chilling in Mia’s room getting hair & make up done. The ceremony was on a very private and secluded beach, which we never even found out the name of. Pastor Harold Kilborn, who performed a fantastic ceremony, suggested this spot and he was right to keep it secret. It wouldn’t have accommodated much more than 15 people and was pretty much heaven on earth, I mean check out that view!!! Back at the Ko’a Kea resort for cocktails and dinner at their amazing restaurant Red Salt was divine. The next morning we were all looking at each other saying “It really couldn’t have been a more perfect day!”. Congratulations Mia & Sylvain! I love you both and am so happy for you. XOXO

We made it! Day three of Priya & Kavit’s amazing wedding weekend concluded with a bang - a beautiful Hindu ceremony and awesome reception. Priya looked stunning in her fuchsia Sari from Fronteir and hair & make-up by Lishma. The event all took place at the Braemar Country Club and started off with the incredible Baraat. Kavit on a horse from Enchanted Carriages and surrounded by his dancing family, lead him to Priya’s family, where they welcome him and all his family into theirs. The beautiful ceremony Mandap was created by Krushna Mandap. Manohar Delhi Palace once again catered an incredible dinner.
We had such a wonderful time with you guys and your families the entire weekend. Thank you for allowing us to be such a big part of your day. Congratulations!!!
Buckle up, this is a longer than usual post for me… but I just couldn’t not show it all!

Day two of Priya & Kavit’s three day wedding was the Sangeet at the Brandview Collection. The Sangeet is all about family & friends performing for the bride & groom and then dancing all night! The unbelievably delicious food was catered by Manohar’s Delhi palace (why do you think we love shooting Indian weddings so much??). Priya’s hair & make-up by Play hair lounge and her beautiful Lehanga Choli was from Fronteir in Artesia. Everyone had a great time!
