On Thursday, Sheila & Roni’s wedding celebration continued with the Janasavam. I met Roni at the Malibu Hindu Temple, and had a chance to get some pictures of him alone while we waited for his family. The temple is made of beautiful hand carved stone in typical Indian style. Inside, he received a blessing from the priest then, everyone went back to Sheila’s parents for a Barat, followed by a short ceremony, where the priest presented both parents with a copy of the wedding invitation and program.

This past week, we covered Sheila & Roni’s amazing wedding festivities. 4 nights of parties, food and fun! We have so many photos, I’m going to do a 4 part blog entry, one for each day. It all started with the mehendi night on Wednesday, hosted by Sheila’s parents. Sheila was smart and had her mehendi done the night before, so she could enjoy her own party! She looked so beautiful in her emerald green sari. The first of many stunning outfits.

I think this past Saturday was one of the hottest days we’ve ever shot on, and Lesley, the beautiful bride, barely broke a “glisten”. Even with the heat, it was a fabulous day and everyone had a great time at Wattles Mansion, complete with a fabulous mariachi band and amazing flokorico dancers.

This weekend I got to shoot the wonderful wedding of Melissa & Michael for Verofoto. Talk about a small world, Nate & I shot their friends Matt & Olga’s wedding 3 years ago!! It was a beautiful day at The Luxe Hotel Sunset Blvd. Here’s a look:

It was only a couple of weeks ago we photographed Anne in all her pregnant glory. Here’s the product of all that hard work - Audrey! Such a beauty. The shot of the dad’s and their babes makes me giggle - Lucas looks like a toddler (and a total goofball!) next to this newborn!!!

We were so excited to hear from Alice & Bob a couple of weeks ago saying they just had a baby girl and wanted to have newborn photos taken. We shot their wedding back in 2005 at the New Otani (we’re back there at the end of this month - stay tuned!). Olive was so sweet and what a head of hair! After Lucas’s bald head, I was amazed at her locks!! Here she is:

I got the chance to shoot with Kari Kochar this past weekend and had a great time with her! Anitra was such a beautiful bride and Joel was the sweetest groom. We started the day off at the Sheraton Universal City getting the girls ready, then off to St. Charles Borromeo for the ceremony. Fabulous food was to be had at the Ca’ del Sole reception. Thanks Kari for letting me help you out, and thanks to Anitra and Joel for letting me share in your day!! Here’s what I saw:

Our engagement session with Seana & Jonas at the Santa Monica Pier was so much fun, we can’t wait for their wedding next March at La Venta Inn! We hadn’t met before this shoot - I always feel like we’re showing up on a blind date when we shoot before we meet, but we all hit it off perfectly and goofed around for a few hours. Here they are:

Last week, I had a great shoot with two-year-old Charlie. Charlie was a real gentleman and shook hands when we were introduced (actually, more like a sideways high-five). He loves the big boy swings and his Goldfish crackers. What a character. Here he is:
